Two Palms

The two palm trees symbolize two people standing by each other, literally and figuratively. Those people could be partners, best friends, or siblings—people can interpret this relationship in different ways, but it's always about loyalty and support. Megan's process for these pieces consists of multiple sessions to build up texture, then painting the palm trees with both a traditional paintbrush as well as a Hawaiian Hala Brush, which is the naturally frayed end of a hala tree seed. 12" x 36" Mixed Media
