Yellowheart Chopsticks Enjoy the beauty of our handcrafted exotic wood chopsticks. This pair is made from the Brazilian Yellowheart species known as Euxylophora paraensis that grows in Brazil. Considered the sister to Purpleheart, it actually is not even in the same botanical family classification. Its interlocking grain structure and texture gives the wood a natural pearl luster, but also produces the optical illusion called chatoyancy, commonly known as cat’s eye effect that gives the surface the appearance of looking wet. In recent years, it has become increasingly harder to source as its very lustrous golden yellow color is not common in nature. Each pair of chopsticks are handcrafted from premium exotic woods that are hand selected to be devoid of defects. Hand shaped using a horizontal belt sander, each stick is expertly made to have a Japanese taper from top to bottom.
