Jerry Harju, Author: Northern Reflections: A Heartfelt Account of "Growing Up North"

Northern Reflection is a collection of wild, wacky, and nostalgic short stories based on the author Jerry Harju's childhood in Upper Michigan in the 1940's. His youthful adventures include standing on the railroad tracks to play chicken with an oncoming ore train, riding on a fire truck to a blaze at his own house, and the difficulties of picking up girls in the midst of a frigid Michigan winter. About The Author Jerry Harju was born in Ishpeming, Michigan in 1933. He received a degree in engineering from the University of Michigan in 1957 and completed his formal education with a MS from the University of Southern California in 1985. After 30 years as a manager in the aerospace industry in Southern California, Jerry began humor writing as a second career. He now lives in Marquette, Michigan.
