Antique Chinese Gilt Bronze Crane Figure Incense Holder 18th/19th Century

A fine and deeply cast bronze Chinese incense holder in the shape of a crane riding the turtle of longevity with the glitter of gold.   The casting shows very deep, high-quality detail including fine feathers. The crane holds a pricket in his beak that would have held an incense cone. The bronze was gilded after casting.   There are no marks or labels.   MEASUREMENTS   4 ½” (11.4 cm) long x 1 3/8” (3.4 cm) wide x 6 ¼” (15.9 cm) tall. Weighs 8.7 oz (245 g)   CONDITION   There is moderate wear to the gilding on the body and pricket. The underside of the turtle shows the original gold coloration. There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repairs.   A great object to add richness to a Chinese art collection.
