A great way to begin acquiring silver is by investing in these $5 rolls of 90% silver. These pre-1965 silver dimes, commonly referred to as junk silver or scrap bullion, were withdrawn from circulation as a result of the increasing value of silver and the introduction of copper and nickel-clad coins. People saved most of these dimes from before 1965 as a financial fallback for unexpected expenses, given their 90% silver composition. Each sealed roll, weighing approximately 3.575 ounces, contains 50 Mercury dimes with a face value of 10 cents each (totaling $5), all dating back to 1964 or earlier.
