Officer "Modified" Richmond Clothing Bureau Trousers

Southern officer trousers based on two known examples of trousers believed to have been produced by the Richmond Clothing Bureau and then purchased and modified for officer use.  "Tolson Trousers" - based on a pair worn by an officer of the 2nd Maryland Infantry. The trousers are made from English Army cloth, and include the modifications of reversing the buttoning of the waistband and cuff reinforcements.  "Selden Trousers" - based on a pair worn by an Army of Northern Virginia artillery officer. The trousers are made from imported English blue kesery and are trimmed down the outer seam with service piping. It is noted that these may have been a special request item and not a later modification to previously made Richmond trousers.  Additional historical background can be found here.
