Hibiscus-Infused
One of our all-time favorite infusions: hibiscus-infused honey. This infusion is extra special because we use roselle (hibiscus) grown at Laughing Frog Farms. Laughing Frog Farm was a permaculture farm in Hempstead, about an hour outside of Houston. The farmer, Glen Miracle, was my neighbor at Urban Harvest. His farm employed organic principles and creates amazing produce, eggs and meats. To make the hibiscus infusion, we removed the seed pods and dehydrated the flowers. Add those to honey, stirring frequently for a few months and bam - bright magenta hibiscus-infused honey. What to do with hibiscus-infused honey? Well it’s a great finisher/drizzle for many dishes and desserts. The deep hue can brighten up any dish.
