Kawaratake Kinshi:Ā  A type of Kinshi that produced by Trametes versicolor fungus and it is the best companions for stag beetle larvae. Preferred for most stag beetle larvaeĀ except Cyclommatus and Lucanus. Optimum temperature: 68-75 °F (20-24Ā  °C) **This fungus doesn't thrive in hot weather. Keep in mind: Please use it 2-3 days after the whole Kinshi turns white. Fresh Kinshi generates heat, which can stress the larvae. If you don’t intend to use the Kinshi immediately upon receipt, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 months. "Kawaratake Kinshi" fungi are somewhat sensitive and may attract unwanted bacteria, forming a thick, hard layer of mushrooms. If too thick, it might suffocate the larvae, so remember to scrape it off. Rainbow stag beetle and golden stag beetle love "Kawaratake Kinshi."
