DOT PAINTED (MANDALA) CHRISTMAS ART BY SANDY FRITCH
About the Artist: Art has always been a part of my life. Our small town high school added its first art class when I was a Senior, and I happily enrolled to be introduced to watercolor, acrylic, and oil painting as well as clay sculpting. When I graduated, my art teacher’s entry in my yearbook was that she hoped I would continue to pursue my art, as she would hate to see my talent wasted. Life intervened, though, and it would be 20 years before I once again tried my hand at another art form – glassblowing! I loved it and sold my paperweights, vases, and plates at numerous art festivals in Ohio and Michigan. Retirement from my regular job in finance and accounting resulted in a move to Arizona, and I left the hot glass furnaces behind. Still longing to create something, I saw articles and photos of the newly popular dotted mandalas on rocks and quickly decided to try it.
