This is the plastic washing machine clutch for many modern top-load GE washing machines.  If your GE washing machine is making a whirring-style noise that is very loud, possibly causing the machine not to spin, this is a very likely culprit. We suggest changing the spring at the same time as this clutch in case the spring is worn as well, and do not forget to lubricate the new clutch as well with silicone grease.
