Wood-fired White Porcelain Teapot
I always feel a sense of tranquility from Dong Dong’s works, just as I feel his meticulous humility when I meet him. He meticulously cleans the kiln with a vacuum cleaner again and again before placing his pieces inside. Unlike many ceramic artists’ studios, Dong Dong declines visiting guests and rarely (if ever) hosts visitors in his studio. He devotes all his energy to the study and creation of teaware, techniques, and porcelain clay. Therefore, we see this teapot, made of pure white porcelain clay with slight fire marks and some ash, reminding you that it is still a wood-fired piece. The relatively thin body, well-considered details, carefully pondered handle shape, spout height and shape, and the internal ball-shaped filter ensure a clean and powerful pour. With a capacity of about 100ml, it is the ideal size for most tea enthusiasts. The thin teapot ensures good thermal conductivity and better brings out the tea’s fragrance. Isn’t this exactly what you’re looking for?
