Product Description: Sappan Wood Pods come from the Biancaea sappan tree from our suppliers in Indonesia. These curled pods have a woody exterior and a soft inside which is often detached from the main pod, but due to their curled nature, it stays intact. They grow all over the Indian subcontinent and have been introduced to Southeast Asia and Africa. Like their wood, these pods produce a nice red/pink hue to the aquarium, helping replicate the tannins found in the peat swamps of Borneo and Sumatra.
