Sarracenia sp. Carnivorous Plants Common names: Pitcher Plants Ideal for bog gardens and container ponds, Sarracenia sp has many different colored pitchers that develop their full hues when placed into full sun. We do not recommend placing them in shade, as this can cause them to droop with stunted growth. It will require wet soil made up of sand, topsoil, sphagnum moss, and bark during its growing months and then damp soil during its winter dormancy period. These plants grow best under acidic soil conditions with poor nutrients. The dormancy period will start around 45°F - 30°F, but it will depend on your region. With Carnivorous plants, it is recommended you use distilled or RO water during the summer months when rain is less prevalent. We personally like to make sure our TDS is around 100 by mixing some tap water (This is optional, though). Caring for Sarracenia sp. In Backyard Ponds Sold As: 1x potted Sarracenia of various species in a 2" Pot Care Level: Easy Lighting Requirement:
