Product Description: Willow Live Oak Leaf Litter (Quercus phellos) has all the benefits of Texas Live Oak or Shingles Live Oak, but their shape is quite narrow and long in comparison, which we love! They have the classic earthy smell and the desirable color and shape of North American leaf litter. After the initial 5-minute boil, these leaves will float in the aquarium for a while before finding their final resting spot. To avoid this, you can soak them overnight in a bucket of dechlorinated water until they have all sunk to the bottom. They provide a light amber/orange glow to the water like our other oak species, but in the vivarium, they turn a dark orange to brown as they become waterlogged.
