From the top to the bottom of the range, you can’t go wrong."  Sourced from granitic soils (hence the name) in the birthplace of the Saint-Joseph appellation, this is hedonistic old vine Syrah with meditative notes. Grapes are 100% destemmed before a slow fermentation in small concrete vats. The wine sees a long fermentation period, lasting over a month, this helps polymerize tannins. The wine is aged between 16 and 18 months in 50% new oak barrels. The wine is literally a rock star now, but will age from 30-50+ years.  Tasting Notes100% Syrah. The wine is a very deep garnet. Nose exudes black fruit jam accompanied by smoked and mineral overtones.
