Dancing Frog

The Dancing Frog is a deer hair popper that is nicely tied, buoyant, and will be at home poppin' through the weeds and pads where largemouth like to roam.  It is certainly reminiscent of the old Hula Popper bass lure from days past with its rubber skirt. The Dancing Frog is a good-sized popper appropriate for use with 8-weight rods and stout leaders.  We like big deer hair poppers like the Dancing Frog because they land soft on the water but create lots of commotion when you want it.   The Dancing Frog is approximately 4-inches long from the eye of the hook to the end of the rubber legs.  It is tied on a size 2 hook and has a double-strand monofilament weed guard. TIP:  To lighten the fly and make it a bit easier to cast, cut off some of the rubber skirt strands.
