New Zealand North Island Multi-Sport Adventure

CYCLING - HIKING- KAYAKING - SANDBOARDING - SAILING Description Itinerary Bikes November 5-11, 2023 Welcome to New Zealand!  We’ll meet you near Auckland Airport and then drive you up to Northland, a forested, subtropical region on New Zealand’s North Island framed by the Tasman Sea to the West and the Pacific Ocean to the East.  We’ll start our exploration in the Bay of Islands, a beautiful area with many beaches and colonial-era towns like Paihia and Russell.  It is also the location of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the birthplace of New Zealand and a stop on our first full day together.  After learning about New Zealand’s history, we’ll enjoy a kayak/hike to/from Haruru Falls (direction of each activity determined by the tide and local weather). After sampling the east side, we’ll enjoy the western part of the Twin Coast Cycle Trail from Kaikohe to Horeke.  From Horeke, we’ll take a private ferry to Omapere (tide permitting), our base for exploring the Hokianga harbor ar
