Bees in Nucs: Our 5 frame NUC includes a proven and laying VSH-Italian marked queen with known gentle genetics. The 5 frames are deep Langstroth style frames full with a combination of brood, honey and pollen. These Italian honey bees have known gentle genetics and are ideal for Backyard Beekeeping in Los Angeles. Pre-orders for nucleus colonies opens each November 1st for pickup in spring the following year. Estimated pickup for pre-ordered nucleus colonies is typically a weekend in late April to mid May. Once we have exact days, we will communicate via email the pickup dates, times and location. We do our best to keep customers updated as to the distribution days, usually a weekend. However, typically we do not know the exact dates until about two to three weeks beforehand. Due to circumstances beyond our control (i.e. weather) pickup dates for nucleus colonies may change.
