Amano Shrimp

They are native to Japan and Taiwan. Amano Shrimps are popular among the aquarium hobby because they can keep a tank algae free by eating leftover food and debris 24/7. they can be kept with nano fish similar size to the Amano shrimp. Amano Shrimps grows fast and can be semi-aggressive during eating periods. They do very well in heavily planted tanks and likes to scavenge throughout the tank. There are rare occasions where the amanos are able to crawl out of the aquarium. Amano Shrimps are easy to breed but due to the environment needed for the larvae, survival rates is hard maintain. Once a Amano gets berried, it can take up to 5 weeks to hatch. Once hatched, the larvae needs to be put in brackish water. In the nature, a stream takes the larvae near the ocean. After its larvae
