The four-hole design provides a better spray pattern for better fuel atomization and a wider spray pattern than the early style single pintle injectors. This not only increases power, but provides better fuel efficiency as less unburnt fuel will be sent out the exhaust. In addition to the flow rate and spray pattern benefits, these newer style Gen III injectors have some additional benefits. they're about half the weight of standard Bosch metal body injectors, are more resistant to heat soak, and will never rust due to the plastic body.
