Shelley Hedgerow Gainsborough English Bone China Teacup and Saucer Pair. c. 1945-1966
Spring blooms of bright yellow, pink, lavender, and blue mix with lively green leaf are banded around these different versions of Shelley China's lovely "Hedgerow" design. With one set banded in bright gold trim, the other is hand decorated with pastel green to the handle, foot, and trim. Distinct and beautifully colorful additions to any teacup collection...also made by one of England's most esteemed of all bone china potteries. Origin: England; pre-owned Dimensions: Cups (2)- 2 3/4"H x 3 7/8"W opening Saucers(2)- 5 3/4"W Condition: (Green handle) Good. There is a very small pin-head sized surface nick to the cup side rim, just before the handle; it is very hard to see but can be felt. Very light, small use marks noted to the saucer well. Light glaze specks from manufacturing seen to the cup interior base. The design is sharp, the set is nicely polished, and the colors are bright with no loss.
