Citrus limetta, is a unique Peruvian citrus fruit commonly referred to as “Lima” throughout Peru. Its essential oil is difficult to come by and is distilled by a community of growers in Huyro, Peru exclusively for Bio Alchemy Olfactive. These sunny yellow fruits grow wild in what was once a thriving sweet lemon orchard in the high jungle. They have a lighter colored pulp than the common lemon, and offer a delightful sweetness in place of tang. Our partners collect the ripened fruit and flowers, steam distilling essential oil in small batches during the months of July through September. Its scent is ripe with sparkling sweet lemon and notes of candied lemon peel, white flowers, and sunshine. UsageAs with most citrus essential oils, Lima is vibrant, detoxifying, cleansing and antibacterial.
