Cutting asphalt requires the correct tools, so be sure to check those out first. Once you have the tools, a diamond blade with a firm bond is needed to cut asphalt, which is more brittle than materials such as concrete or granite. Due to this, cutting asphalt necessitates a special blade that is not compatible with the blades used for cutting the previously mentioned materials. Wet and dry asphalt blades are both serviceable. Note that if you only need to make a cut around 4 inches deep in the asphalt, a standard circular saw with an asphalt diamond blade will do.
