The Witches. Triangular mouse bone ring.
As a girl, Roald Dahl ignited both my imagination, and my love for books. I'd always have a well worn copy of 'Matlida', 'The BFG' or 'The Witches' on me, devouring the stories, again and again. This ring is an homage to this author, specifically for his book 'The Witches' in which the main character is turned into a mouse by formula 86. I've always loved this strange depiction of witches, and here it also acts as a talisman of sorts.A triangular crystal was cast in sterling silver and retains all its lovely facets, acting as the gem of the piece, gripped in by three tiny mouse bones, acting as prongs. A flat back triangle adds the third element of this trinity, creating a wonderfully three dimensional ring with interesting, different textures. The entire ring is made from sterling silver and hand oxidized to achieve my signature shade of gloomy gray, and then brushed to reveal the silver tone belly beneath, creating a haunted look I associate with how olde Victorian mirrors appear fogg
