Wedding Rings | Embroidery on Crochet Motif
Through the years, I have drawn inspiration from other creative mediums for my designs. Even though I don't own a sewing machine, quilting has always been a muse and the wedding rings quilt pattern is a longstanding favorite. This motif is an homage to this traditional design and a wonderful way to add color, texture and depth to your crocheted fabric. This file contains directions to execute the chevrons, as well as a pattern for a simple coaster. I encourage you to make a coaster (a much more delightful word than swatch, don't you think?) to explore not only the embroidery technique, but also learn about how the drape of your crochet relates to the tension of your embroidery. Through practice, you will find your perfect combination of materials, hook size and tension.
