Northern Sea Oats

Chasmanthium latifolium Commonly known as River Oats or Northern Sea Oats, this native perennial produces flat, pale green seed heads in mid-summer. The seed heads are reminiscent of the sea oats at the beach, hence the common name.  Plant will grow in a variety of of different places and works well for the dry, shaded areas of the garden. When planted in full sun, this native can grow to 4 feet. Keep soil dry to moist as well. Truly an easy grass to grow.  Works well as a groundcover, in containers and in mass plantings. Seed heads make fun additions to cut flower arrangements.  Native to North America. Arrives to you in a gallon-sized pot.
