Gaillardia grandiflora 'Arizona Sun' Commonly known as blanket flower, Arizona Sun sports beautiful red-orange and yellow bi-colored petals. The compact, uniform mound of bright green foliage is covered in large 3-3½" blossoms from early summer into fall. Gaillardia is a heat-loving perennial that can grow in almost any soil!  Deadheading spent Gaillardia blooms promote growth throughout summer. Arizona Sun can spread 10-14" wide by 16" tall.  Attractive to butterflies and drought resistant/drought tolerant plant once established. Leave all Gaillardia varieties standing over the winter and cut back to 1-2" inches above the soil in mid-spring when the plants begin to wake up.
