A very good pair of antique William & Mary joined oak side chairs, circa 1690Each back with a pair of turned ball finials above a carved pierced crest rail, below are four narrow moulded & carved slats mortised between the scroll-profiled cresting rail and a plain lower rail, the columnar and ball-turned uprights with integral ball finials, the panelled seat raised on block and ball-turned legs, joined by a ball turned fore-rail and multiple turned side and rear rails and raised on compressed ball feet.The chairs have a wonderful mellow dark honey patina, built up over the last 330 years, condition is excellent, the chairs are tight and stable and ready to grace your home.Provenance; From a 17th century manor house in Warwickshire England.
