A good antique English Country Georgian oak dresser base, circa 1790.The dresser base most likely the North of England possibly Yorkshire, of joined construction throughout. Made of solid oak and having a bank of four central drawers with the original brass bail handles, the top drawer with a lock and a brass escutcheon. The drawers are flanked by a pair of arched paneled cupboard doors, each enclosing a single shelf, the dresser is raised on stile feet.Great old finish with a warm mellow honey patina, condition is very good, the dresser is solid, stable and robust and ready to grace your space.The dresser was acquired from an 18th century stone farmhouse in North Yorkshire, the dresser has just lovingly received a coat of wax polish in Bloomsbury's professional workshops.
