Antique 19th Century German Painted Cabinet Wedding Armoire "Four Seasons" 1850

A very fine antique German hand-painted "Four Seasons" wedding armoire cabinet, circa 1850.The armoire having a stepped crown with twin paneled doors below, the body of the cabinet having a painted madder red ground and hand-painted with stylized flowers. The doors are beautifully hand-painted with the four seasons, each panel portrays the season with figures engaging in activities of the season, for example harvesting fruit in the fall and making a fire in the snow during winter. Each panel has the name of the season painted below in old German script with archaic German spelling.The doors have the original hand-forged steel lock and the original key is present, the cabinet is raised on compressed shaped bun feet.Condition is very good indeed, the paint work is in remarkable intact condition, this charming antique German folk art cabinet/armoire is ready to grace your space.
