Antique Italian Porcelain Capodimonte Porcelain Lion Handle Pitcher Jug, Circa 1880

This item has recently sold. Email us and we might have something similar in inventory. An unusual antique Italian porcelain pitcher jug in the Neoclassical style, Capodimonte, Circa 1880. The jug modeled with a fabulous lion handle, a pouring spout to the front and decorated with a band of vine and grapes around the neck. The base of the pitcher is sumptuously decorated with Neo-classical figures in high relief, the figures in Greco-Roman dress and having a band of icons from antiquity below. The jug raised on a flared foot, marked to the underside with an underglazed blue crown and "N", condition is excellent.
