Freshwater Painted Fire Red Shrimp Appearance: This is a high-grade selectively bred variant of the cherry shrimp, known for its intense, opaque, solid red coloration that covers the entire body and legs. Males are typically less colorful than females. Size & Lifespan: They grow to an average adult size of 1–1.5 inches (2.5–3.8 cm) and have a lifespan of 1–2 years. Behavior: They are peaceful, non-aggressive, and active scavengers that spend most of their time grazing on algae, biofilm, and detritus in the aquarium. Care: They are considered hardy and well-suited for beginners. Key requirements include a fully cycled tank, stable water parameters (pH 6.5–7.5, temperature 72–78°F), and a lack of copper-based medications, which are toxic to them.
