Drosera nidiformis, Sundew, live carnivorous plant, potted
Drosera nidiformis is a small to medium sized tropical sundew from South Africa. It was orginally named D "Magaliesburg" after the town in which it was discovered. It grows forming a rosette with upwardly with green leaves and red "hairs" that hold the sticky liquid. If given bright, indirect light they will develop a lovely red/orange coloration. D nidiformis will produce a flower stalk that reaches high above the foliage consisting of several lovely pink/purple flowers. They are also perennial meaning that they will live several years given proper care, even after flowering. This carnivorous plant is wonderful at capturing gnats, fruit flies and mosquitoes! Great for beginners, this plant is an easy, small windowsill grower. Available in a 2.5" pot. Drosera Care: Sundews do best in partial shade to full sun. They are well suited for growing on window ledges or outdoors during warm months. They must be watered with non-chlorinated water preferably with a low TDS (between 0 and 25pp
