Drosera x Dreamsicle, Thread leaf sundew, live carnivorous plant, potted
This filiformis is a hybrid between Drosera filiformis var. floridana and D. tracyi. It is an easy to care for temperate plant. It has long and delicate looking leaves covered with orange hairs and clear dew. New leaves uncurl from the center until they become long and upright. The leaves can grow up to 20". These plants are master predators and can easily capture gnats, ants, and mosquitoes. They will go through a winter dormancy in which all the leaves die back and all that remains is the resting bud. In the spring, the plant will 'wake up' and produce carnivorous leaves again. They are currently potted in a 3.5" pot and will be shipped potted. Drosera Care: Sundews do best in partial shade to full sun. They are well suited for growing on window ledges or outdoors during warm months. They must be watered with non-chlorinated water preferably with a low TDS (between 0 and 25ppm). You can use rain water, RO or distilled. Allow to dry slightly but not completely in between waterings.
