This cultivar has long been considered one of the most desirable VFTs on the market due to its vigorous growth, large trap size and deep color. When an insect touched the trigger hairs on the inside of the traps, the mouth snaps shut trapping the hapless insect. Produces white flowers on stems high above the foliage. Wonderful at capturing nuisance insects such as flies and mosquitoes. They are native to an area on the border between North and South Carolina meaning that they can tolerate a larger range of temperatures.
