Sometimes called "Howlite Turquoise", it is a material that comes from natural Howlite (white/grey in color) being dyed a bright blue color. It is less expensive than natural Turquoise, and beautiful in its own right!Please note! - After some debate, and talking to several stone carvers, I had a geologist take a look at this material in early May, 2010. Different carvers have called this "Chinese Turquoise" or "Howlite Turquoise". The geologist says it is natural Howlite that has been dyed somehow to produce the vivid blue coloring. The stone itself is a natural mineral from the Earth, however the color is from being dyed in a man-made process. I don't know the precise details of the process, but
