034Motorsport's engineers invested significant effort in developing and testing to create the most comprehensive and effective catch can kit for the 2.0T EA888 Gen 4 motor. Why is the OE PCV System Insufficient? While the EA888.4 PCV system is a step up from the EA888.3, this current generation system is still largely based on the previous generation’s design with some improvements. The new PCV features a revised diaphragm and check valve system to help regulate crankcase pressures better and an improved oil separator with a new internal baffle to reduce the amount of oil vapor that could be recirculated into the intake manifold. Despite these improvements, we still see oil and water vapors entering the intake tract in our long-term extreme testing. These contaminants pool in various components of the intake tract and get sucked into the engine, producing carbon build-up on the intake valves and leading to oil consumption. This issue is exacerbated when pushing beyond stock power level
