The headlight guard protects the main headlight against stone chip damage when riding on terrain other than public roads. The guard is intended exclusively for off-road use and can be quickly and easily screwed on or unscrewed.   Factory BMW Motorrad Headlight guard for Liquid Cooled R1200/R1250GS Models Fits  2013-2018 R1200GS 2014-2018 R1200GS 2019-2023 R1250GS 2019-2024 R1250GSA Does require removal of front fairing and body work to complete installation. Install by local BMW dealer is highly recommended. Not rocket science to install but is a little involved. We include printed installation instructions from BMW for this item.  Once brackets are mounted to the headlight guard can be easily removed to clean via the 4 pins it rests on when installed.
