Gooseberry Shorts

These shorts are inspired by a textile salesman's swatch circa the 19th century. The original fabric was made and printed in England for the Indian market under trade practices that prioritized importing English textiles over domestically produced Indian cotton. The pattern was faithfully reproduced from a small swatch. The shorts silhouette is reminiscent of traditional rugby shorts worn throughout Canada with a short inseam and wide leg opening.
