Korean Hornbeam, Large
RARE — One of the more rare and hard-to-find bonsai trees. They grow relatively slowly compared to other bonsai, and they are not easy to propagate. RAMIFICATION — Known for its dense ramification, producing fine twigs and tight branching with timed pruning — this is what creates the high-end, deciduous look, especially when leafless in the wintertime. INTERESTING BARK — As it matures, the smooth gray bark develops a "fluted" or muscled appearance with vascular lines, giving even small trees the presence of a grand, ancient specimen. SMALL LEAVES — Has naturally dainty leaves and a strong ability to reduce leaf size. FALL FOLIAGE — It offers a spectacular autumn display, with leaves turning brilliant shades of orange, yellow, and red — often emerging in showy stripes.
