The book 'Medicinal Plants of Uttarakhand: Diversity, Livelihood and Conservation' is an attempt to synthesize diverse information on the medicinal plants. The book describes 964 medicinal plant species growing in various habitat types across the state from subtropical to alpine regions. More than 240 herbal formulations prepared by traditional Vaidyas for curing 73 types of ailments are also described in the book. The book portrays the number of challenges faced by different stakeholders, especially the growers and collectors and the available opportunities in developing the medicinal plants sector.
