Booksicals' SEL through the Arts Workshop Expand your afterschool's staff social emotional learning toolkit using picture books as the source for performing arts activities. Participants will: Explore the  elements of a picture book:  character, themes, stories, colors, emotions, words, rhythm and more Explore creating their own SEL based arts enrichment activities for their students using picture books Collaborate in teams to do one of these arts acitivities:  write lyrics, improvise dialogues or create dance movements inspired by the elements of a Booksical picture book Perform their original songs, dialogues, dance movements for eachother This workshop will help participants: Develop creative confidence Build collaboration skills Expand their tool kit for SEL activities  Bring back new lesson plan ideas for their classrooms
