Narwhal Ivory Pendant 8

Beautiful genuine Narwhal Ivory pendant with rhodium plated 18" chain, bail and lobster claw clasp.  Shows the unique Narwhale tusk texture on the back and is polished smooth on the back, 2 1/2" long. Made from tusks that were imported from Pond Inlet Nunivat Canada in the 1960’s by the J. L. Houston Company of Seattle.  We hand made this pendant from stock we acquired from the Houston Company in 2013 before they closed their doors forever.  When our stock is gone there will be no more, narwhal can no longer be imported into the U.S. (since 1972).  To the best of our knowledge and belief this ivory predates the 1972 marine Mammal Protection Act. Narwhals, the mysterious unicorns of the sea, live in the Arctic Ocean and grow to about 18' (not including the tusk).
