Pastel on Italian-made paper © Kelly Borsheim I only got to visit three cities in Morocco: Fez, Marrakesh, and Essaouira (the latter on the coast, where I mostly watched the water). Each of those places had a color strike me. Fez was white, Marrakesh, deep pink, and Essaouira was a bright sky blue and white. You will not see this quality of the architecture in The Beggar because I did not include any real architecture, but the colors left an impression on me.
