Two girls, nine-year old Elizabeth Parris and eleven-year old Abigail Williams began to experience fits and other mysterious behaviors. A doctor examined them and concluded they were suffering from the effects of witchcraft. This began the Salem Witch Hunt. Area residents incriminated more than 150 women and men from Salem Village.
