2001 Chateau Mouton Rothschild Pauillac [WS94] (SOLD OUT)
Producer: Chateau Mouton Rothschild Region: Pauillac, Bordeaux, France Blend: 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Cabernet FrancYear: 2001 Wine Spectator, 94 Points "Very smoky, with berry, coffee and tobacco aromas. Full-bodied, with polished velvety tannins, plenty of fruit and a cedary aftertaste. Tight and compacted. This is better than the 2000 Mouton. It's a baby 1986 Mouton. Solid and very, very fine. Persists for a long time on the palate. Best after 2009." Winemaker Notes: "The wine has an evolved, garnet red color with brilliant highlights. The nose displays complex fruit, rich in ripe berry fruit aromas like bilberry and blackcurrant, with some pleasant notes of smoke and leather and a slightly animal cast. From a well-structured attack supported by well-rounded tannins, satisfyingly dense flavors emerge on the palate, full of fruit. The finish, long and elegant with plenty of substance, reveals excellent potential." Alcohol: 12.5% *Discounts do not apply to it
