The photographs from the historic session became known as the "Red Velvet" series, each one a portrait of Marilyn Monroe posing on a red velvet drape. The first of these was immortalized as the centerfold of the inaugural edition of Playboy in 1953. The remaining portraits are the basis of Velvet Collection labels for these coveted, collectible wines.
