Winemaker Notes: Chateau de Laussac is located in the community of St Magne de Castillon, only 8 km from the wine hillls of St. Emilion.  Cotes de Castillon was named as Près Saint-Émilion, because of the near with the hills, the same calcar  ground, and the quite similar wines, that in this area comes a little bit smoother. Since 2004 owner of Chateau Laussac are Alexandra and Nicolas Robin also owner of Château Rol Valentin, St Emilion Grand Cru and Clos Taillefer in Pomerol and they work with the Oenologist, Michel Rolland. The 28 hectares of vines of Chateau de Laussac are planted with 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. Points: 90 - Robert Parker "A somewhat rustic style of Côtes de Castillon made from a blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Franc, the 2005 De Laussac has some aggressive tannin, but loads of chocolaty, meaty notes along with black fruits and spice.
