Spring on the Upper Madison begins with the skwala stonefly — one of the first significant dry fly hatches of the Montana season. Water is cold and flows are rising, but the fish are active and the skwala hatch draws them to the surface.   This box is built around the Upper Madison's spring hatch calendar — skwala stoneflies, blue-winged olives, and midges. Every fly was chosen with dry fly fishing during the skwala hatch and nymphing between hatches in mind, giving you exactly what you need to match what the fish are eating at this time of year.   What's in the box: 36 flies total — 18 unique patterns, 2 of each — covering skwala dries, stonefly nymphs, BWO emergers, and midge patterns.
