It rides smoothly utilizing a caged pivot bearing system, though the detent is quite strong so once that is overcome the action is ultra-fast. The handle is a very squared-off shape with full titanium construction and a small marble carbon fiber backspacer. Pohan does an excellent job milling an area for your finger to disengage the lock, it's comfortable and near-effortless to use.
